Adobe Lightroom Update
Adobe Labs have just released Version 4.2 of Lightroom, their popular digital photography software. This provides additional camera raw support for over 20 new cameras, a plethera of new lens profiles and fixes for a whole host of bugs introduced in previous releases of Lightroom. One new feature is support for the Adobe Revel Cloud based image service, but you’ll need a sunscription to make use of this.
It seems Adobe have taken notice of the feedback from the onlne Lightroom comunity with many of the requests and bug notifications from users addressed within this release. Of particular note for me (and one that I complained about) is the fix to Flickr posting which failed in version 4.1 if you had a Cariage Return character in the Title or Caption field of your image metadata. You can download the version 4.1 here and read a list of the changes on the Lightroom Journal Blog post here.
It will be interesting to see if there are any improvements in speed in version 4.2 as this seem to have been a real bug-bear of many users (me included), although Adobe make no mention of this in the release notes.
